The aim of this project was to transform a care home for vulnerable, young adults onto a high-end co-living comfortable accommodation for 7 young professionals in a location that was conveniently located to to the city centre. As this project began at the start of the pandemic, the focus was on creating safe self-contained units that were multi-functional and designing a homely environment that would enhance the well-being of the tenants. We took inspiration from nature and wanted to bring the outdoors in by covering the whole house with lots of green foliage, leafy wall art and banana leaf wall paper. For materials, we incorporated lots of wooden elements and leather to bring warmth and texture to the space. The colour palette complemented this theme with its natural earthly hues of terracotta and leafy greens contrasted with dark charcoal grey.
